1. How does the digger work and is it safe?
Our electric-powered, trailer-mounted children's excavator includes:
✔ Parent remote control (start/stop power)
✔ Child seat belt & dual-control sticks with instructional stickers
✔ 3-minute auto timer for fair turns
✔ Safety gear (hard hat + hi-vis vest)
⚠️Adult supervision required at all times🔌Power requirement: 120V outlet within 20m.
2. What's included in the hire?
Everything for instant fun:
✔ Digger + built-in sandpit
✔ Delivery, setup & pickup (Ashburton to Ashley)
✔ Full safety gear & operating instructions
✔ Extension cord and safety case for plug
3. What ages/weights can use the digger?
Ages 3-12 years (max weight 120kg - adults can join too!)
4. How much space is needed?
•3m x 2m flat area with vehicle access for trailer
•Not suitable for indoors (weight may damage flooring)
5. What's your weather policy?
🌧️Light rain: Can operate (digger is weather-resistant and has a roof)
⛈️Heavy rain: Free reschedule with 24h notice
6. Can we add a treasure hunt?
Yes - soon! Our Treasure Hunt Pack will include:
• Buried gems/fossils/toy vehicles
• Digger operator 'licenses'
We are still awaiting some final touches to bring this add-on to life.
7. What if the digger stops working?
While it is incredibly unlikely this will occur, if it does you can call our team on the details provided in your confirmation email for urgent assistance.
We kindly ask that you do not try and troubleshoot yourself.
8. Are you the only digger hire in Christchurch?
Yes! We're Christchurch's first and only digger hire with built-in sandpit.
9. Are you adding more rides?
🚧Expanding soon! More construction rides in development - watch this space! We would love feedback of any rides that you are keen to see in our fleet.
10. Booking & Cancellations
We recommend booking 2-3 weeks ahead to ensure your preferred booking date.
Cancellations made 7+ days prior receive a full refund. For cancellations 2-7 days before, a 50% refund applies. Within 48 hours, no refunds are given, but we're happy to reschedule your booking to another available date where possible. Rescheduling requires 24 hours' notice and is subject to availability.
11. Does the ride come with an operator?
No - the ride will be delivered to your event
along with rules of use that need to be displayed near the ride. If you would prefer
to have one of our friendly team present then please contact us and we will try
to accommodate where possible.
12. What are your payment options?
Credit/Debit card or bank transfer. We have
Buy Now Pay Later services coming soon.
