We run Little Rides from our home in Rangiora. The whole idea started with my two digger-obsessed boys. Watching them light up at every worksite, every parked digger, every machine on the side of the road, I knew this fascination was something special. What began as something for my own kids has grown into Christchurch's first children's mini digger hire.
As a parent myself, I know those magic childhood moments happen when fun and wonder collide. That heart-bursting pride when your child masters their first digger scoop. The excited retelling of their "best birthday ever!" for weeks afterward. These are the moments we live for.
I created Little Rides to take the stress out of celebrations while sparking something special in every child. Our diggers aren't just toys - they're tiny confidence-builders, imagination-igniters, and maybe even the first step toward a future passion.
What we bring is a real working electric mini excavator, fixed to its own trailer with a built-in stone pit. We deliver it, set it up and pack it down again, anywhere across Christchurch and the wider Canterbury region. All you need to do is enjoy the day.
Because every child deserves to feel like the hero of their own adventure. And every parent deserves to enjoy the party too!
It's also why every paid booking helps fund free visits to preschools, childcare centres and kohanga reo across Canterbury. Hands-on play matters, and I want every child in our community to get a turn behind the controls.
